The clinic provides occupational health services for employees of contracted companies and institutions; assessment and evaluation of the clinical condition of chronically monitored patients with occupational diseases, in medically justified cases reporting of new occupational diseases. It also deals with scientific work within the framework of grants and also with the teaching of medics in the subject Occupational diseases, occupational medicine and toxicology and is accredited for postgraduate teaching in the field of Occupational Medicine.
Performed medical activities
An integral part of the clinic is the Center for Occupational Medicine, whose activities are focused on the provision of occupational health services to the extent required by applicable law in accordance with the ILO Convention on Occupational Health Services No. 161 (Decree No. 145/1988 Coll.). In 2011, the Laboratory of Functional Lung Examination of the Department of Occupational Medicine examined a total of 1275 people. The laboratory investigates: resting and strenuous spirometry (flow-volume curve), bodyplethysmography, DLCO (transfer factor for CO), pulsed oscillometry, active anterior rhinomanometry, acoustic acoustic rhinometry, bronchodilation tests, non-specific and specific bronchoprovocation tests with substances from the patient's workplace occupational disease. Performs exhalation of exhaled air condensate and examination of NO in exhaled air. The Toxicology Laboratory of the Department of Occupational Medicine provides a number of laboratory tests in the field of industrial toxicology, including BET.
