The Department of Nephrology focuses mainly on the diagnosis and treatment of glomerulonephritis, renal vasculitis, lupus nephritis, renal and renovascular hypertension, kidney amyloidosis and hereditary kidney disease. Purification methods, from the oldest hemodialysis, through the peritoneal dialysis program and continuous ICU methods, are also traditional. Since 1987, the plasmaferetic program has developed, in which nervous diseases and internal - RPGN, vasculitis and hematology (atypical HUS, TTP, AIHA) dominate. A large number of patients from chronic dialysis program not only from Prague are treated for various complications. Patients with acute renal failure account for more than 20% of hemodialysis procedures.
New methods, significant achievements: Participation in international projects (European Renal cDNA Bank).
