Therapy information

Each medical exposure must be indicated in such a way that the condition of the Atomic Act is met, ie the benefit for the patient must be greater than the risk resulting from the exposure during the examination. If this condition is not met, we are obliged to refuse the examination!

Therapy

Therapeutic applications of open emitters are performed on workplaces ONM I Institute of Nuclear Medicine. 

Only outpatient treatment using open emitters is available:

  • Palliative therapy of bone metastases using 223Radia (Xofigo), or Samaria - treatment must be arranged with the head of the UNM
  • Lymphoma therapy using 90Y-ibritumomab (Zevalin) - treatment must be arranged with the primary UNMM
  • Outpatient therapy of benign thyroid diseases using radioiodine 131I - please fill in forms for outpatient thyroid treatment with radioiodine, if the treatment is appropriate, we will contact the patient.
