Instructions for patients

While waiting for the examination (approx. An hour)

  • You are monitored by a camera system in the cabin at all times and you can talk to the staff via the communication system.
  • After applying the FDG radiopharmaceutical, take a comfortable position without straining your muscles. Prepare a hand cup, water bottle, reading…
  • It is very important for the quality of the examination that you are calm in the booth.
  • Use a blanket to cover, it is important that you do not feel cold and shaky.
  • Also, cold, shaking or discomfort significantly affects the quality of the examination.
  • If you want to go to the toilet, open the door with the green button behind your head, after returning from the toilet, always close the door on the cabin again with the green button. Take a comfortable position without straining your muscles.

At our request just before the examination

  • You will have to go to the toilet again - the bladder must be empty before the examination.
  • Put away all metal objects, including watches, earrings, hairpins, metal drawbridges, ear pickers, piercings, etc.
  • Also clothing with zippers, sequins, metal ornaments, belt, etc.
  • Pants or skirts, as well as pieces of clothing with metal clasps, fasteners, hooks, bones must be removed immediately before the examination. You can keep a T-shirt, shirt, sweater without metal particles, also panties or shorts, socks…
  • Please also take off your shoes.
  • Sit down and be prepared to be asked for an examination.
  • While you wait, we end the scan of the previous patient and carefully prepare all things for your examination. for a quality examination result!

Examination

  • The examination will take place by opening your booth, placing you on the examination table of the device, adjusting it to the position for scanning and preparing it for the beginning of the examination.
  • We will give you further instructions just before the examination.
  • Please keep your breathing calm during the examination and, if possible, superficial, so as not to cause excessive motion blur.
  • Restricting all movements (including deep breaths) during the examination is very important
  • The examination lasts about 30-60 minutes and during this time you will be able to communicate with the operator via a microphone, if necessary, and you will also be monitored by a camera system from the front and back of the device.
