Institute of Pathology

The institute is a comprehensive workplace in the field of pathology, providing all autoptic, biopsy and cytological examinations using special methods of immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, morphometry and molecular pathology. In addition to basic pathomorphological diagnostics, the institute is research focused on the pathology of the musculoskeletal system, digestive tract, urogenital tract, skin, hematopoiesis, nephropathology and pathology of the mother. In addition to continuously supplemented new methods for immunohistochemical examinations, the field of molecular pathological diagnostics is systematically developed.

During the year, the staff of the institute will perform biopsy examinations on approximately 25,000 patients, and cytological examinations on 10,000 patients. Approximately 600 autopsies of the deceased are performed at the institute.
