Oncology clinics provide all outpatient treatment and dispensary care for patients with oncological diseases in the field of clinical oncology and radiotherapy. At present, the outpatient operation includes 7 surgeries, in which the doctors of our clinic take turns according to a regular schedule. In the first 2-3 hours of morning operation, doctors give priority to patients who receive chemotherapeutic treatment, ie infusions of cytostatics. Patients invited for a follow-up examination do not come until all chemotherapies have been ordered, and their waiting in the morning in the waiting room is therefore completely unnecessary. At the same time, we ask our clients to contact their attending physicians with telephone inquiries only after 1 pm or even later, so as not to delay the morning operation of the ambulance. Exceptions are, of course, acute conditions, which can be reported at any time. In these cases, it is possible to contact the service of the doctor in the inpatient department outside the working hours of the outpatient clinic.
The great advantage of our workplace is the connection to the collection center and the central preparation room for cytostatics. Both of these workplaces are in the same building, and connecting these workplaces to a computer speeds up and improves the work of healthcare professionals. As part of outpatient operation, there are 2 rooms with a day hospital. This modern day hospital with a capacity of 30 seats is equipped with sanitary facilities for patients, including a barrier-free bathroom. In the day hospital, infusion therapy is administered on an outpatient basis, which is supplied to the hospital by the central cytostatic preparation department, where the solutions are prepared absolutely sterile and very accurately according to the doctor's schedule. Furthermore, venous access dressings and other minor procedures are performed in the day hospital. A doctor is present throughout the operation of the day hospital.
Inpatient department
The inpatient department of the Oncology Clinic is located in the main area of the hospital, with good connections to the inpatient departments of most other VFN clinics and also to the irradiation rooms (located in the opposite building). In the inpatient department, we mainly offer short-term hospitalizations for the implementation of multi-day or complicated chemotherapy, which cannot be administered on an outpatient basis, or for the implementation of an examination program. We also accept patients who experience such complications of oncological treatment, which require supportive treatment during hospitalization and are not normally manageable in another type of ward. psychologist and pastoral service is to further improve your health and your self-sufficiency. We also expect your active cooperation.
Rooms
At our workplace there are 18 standard beds in double and triple rooms and 2 double superior rooms. A fridge and TV are standard in each room. Two above-standard equipped rooms were modernly and pleasantly furnished under the guidance of an architect, and in addition to the standard rooms, they are also equipped with a microwave oven, a separate toilet and a bathroom. Modern electronically controlled positioning beds contribute to high comfort. Rooms are double. The fee for an above-standard room is 1000 CZK / night. Alternatively, it is possible to offer the stay of a relative with the patient in these rooms under the same conditions. One double room is intended for patients requiring increased supervision of basic life functions. It is secured by a camera system and modern monitors.
Hospitalization
Patients are admitted to the inpatient department on the basis of a record of admission and telephone notification of the date of commencement of hospitalization. The record for hospitalization is usually entered by the attending oncologist at the outpatient clinic. Translation from another department of the General Hospital or another hospital must be arranged in advance with the head of the oncology clinic or her representative in the inpatient department. Acute admission of a patient (complications of treatment) is decided during working hours by a doctor at the outpatient clinic (outpatient clinic and inpatient clinic of the VFN clinic) after agreement with the head (or her representative)
