Department of Oncology

Professional ambulance

The outpatient clinics are connected to a modernly equipped day hospital with a capacity of 31 places and hygienic facilities for patients and staff. The complexity of the outpatient operation, which largely provides medical and control care for our patients, required the hospital to be equipped not only with adjustable loungers and seats, but also with classic beds. A doctor is present throughout the operation of the day hospital.

The preparation of cytostatics is currently provided by a fully central preparation room on the 6th floor of the FP, which supplies sterile prepared drug solutions directly to the day hospital for application according to the doctor's schedule.

The connection of the ambulances to the blood sampling center for laboratories and the central preparation room in one building and the interconnection of individual operations by a computer network speeds up the work of medical staff. The first 2-3 hours of morning operation are given by doctors to patients who come for chemotherapy. The order of patients may differ from their registration in the file, because the doctor ranks patients according to the length of their therapy and also according to the difficulties. Patients invited for a follow-up examination do not come until all chemotherapies have been given, and their sitting in the waiting room from the morning is therefore completely unnecessary.

New patients can be booked for the first examination, where a qualified nurse will recommend a suitable doctor and the date of the visit. We recommend that all established patients carry their order cards with the medical record number. This will make it easier to find the cards, even in the event of a computer failure. We ask the sick to with telephone inquiries, they did not contact their attending physicians until 11:00 or, by appointment, better later, so as not to distract healthcare professionals from patients being treated. Exceptions are acute conditionswhich can be reported at any time.

Lymphological outpatient clinic of the Faculty Polyclinic

The treatment of lymphatic edema, especially in patients after breast ablation, has a 15-year tradition in VFN. At present, the lymphological outpatient clinic of our clinic is located in the building of the polyclinic on Charles Square. Thanks to the work of two lymphotherapists, today we provide patients with care for 8 hours a day. Medical check-up is regular, once a week or according to current needs.

The treatment of patients with lymphedema is very time consuming, it takes about 2 hours a day for one patient. Therefore, the capacity of our lymphological outpatient clinic is limited primarily to the Oncology Clinic's own patients. If possible, we also accept patients from therapy for other workplaces, always with the proper recommendation of the attending physician. It is possible to order in person or by phone.
